16 August 2011 | MARK JONES
Want to drive a luxury premium sports sedan that has the go to match the show?
Want to save yourself R170 000 at the same time by buying pre owned over new? That is right, R170 000 is the number that will stay in your back pocket by calling Hayley Austin at Audi Centre East Rand, on 011 841 3500 or 082 442 5410.
You can also e-mail her at haustin@um.co.za and enquire about the 2010 Pre Owned Audi S4 3.0T FSI Quattro S tronic she has on her floor with 30 000 kilometres on the clock.
This top of the range S4 is going for R495 000, and comes loaded with standard spec and some much desired optionals.
These include SAT NAV, cell phone prep kit, Bang and Olufsen sound, PDC front and rear, panorama electric sunroof and the balance of its five-year /100 000 kilometre Freeway Plan full maintenance plan.
CURRENT PRICE
This deal is unbeatable no matter which way you look at it. The current price is still less than what you should pay for a 2009, and the R50 000 extras fitted come included in the package.
At the heart of the new S4 is the impressive 3.0 TFSI, a 3.0 litre V6 that is not only the youngest member of the Audi V-engine family, but demonstrates Audi's ability to blend performance and efficiency.
The advanced V6 combines its 2 995 cc capacity with a highly efficient supercharger to deliver a maximum power output of 245 kW.
This allows the S4 sedan to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just over 5,0 seconds and take the fight to BMW’s much feared 335i. Top speed is electronically governed to around 250 km/h.
But the S4’s muscle is only one part of the story. Equally impressive is the mighty shove of the 3.0T FSI engine.
Maximum torque peaks at 440 Nm, and is readily available between 2 900 and 5 300 rpm. And when you add this to the convenience and lightning quick shifts of the seven-speed S tronic box, you have the best of both worlds under you.
The supercharged V6 responds instantly to throttle input, regardless of the driving situation. Yet, despite its considerable performance potential, the S4 is also impressively frugal.
The S4 sedan is claimed to consume only 9.7 litres / 100 km in the combined cycle.
The S4’s Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system efficiently transfers the car’s enormous power to the road with no traction loss. Under normal driving conditions, 40 percent of the torque is transferred to the front wheels and 60 percent to the rear axle.
However, if necessary, this distribution ratio can be varied in fractions of a second.
The quattro drive system ensures safe self-steering characteristics, high stability and excellent traction when compared to rear-wheel drive competitors.
The standard quattro permanent all-wheel drive system ensures virtually loss-free transfer of all the S4's muscle to the road. In addition, a sports suspension and a high-performance brake system ensure supreme control.
The interior further underscores the sporty, exclusive positioning of the new S4. The sports seats, trimmed in a combination of Alcantara and leather, are standard and feature electrical adjustment.
CLUSTER
The leather-trimmed, three-spoke sports steering wheel, the key housing and the instrument cluster - featuring grey dials and white needles - all bear the S4 logo.
In line with its high-tech positioning, the S4 can also be equipped with a number of advanced multimedia systems.
As already stated, this communications and entertainment technology portfolio includes the unrivalled MMI operating system, various sound system options including the high-end Bang and Olufsen solution, a navigation system, an iPod interface, and a highly convenient Bluetooth car phone.
