Low-impact

White Rabbits is a six-piece band that makes a pleasant, very electronic-sounding noise.

5½/10 WHITE RABBITS – MILK FAMOUS (JUST)

It’s the sort of digital soundtrack one person can create with a bit of knowledge and a computer, so the overheads involved in having all the extra personnel on board may one day be regretted.

Originally from Missouri, the band is now based in Brooklyn, where MGMT have helped to popularise this sort of sound, although that duo’s music is considerably more innovative.

Perhaps a little more “influence osmosis” will see White Rabbits refining their hooks, something that is badly needed to help this music step up from decent ambient pop to material that holds listener attention.

The mellow groove of I Had It Coming, the closing track, is perhaps the highlight of a low-impact collection. – BD
