“The donation will relieve some of the challenges the school faces,” said elated Dithabaneng Primary’s principal, William Madidimallo.
Absenteeism and late coming are among the many challenges at the school.

“Because of some of the learners disadvantaged economic backgrounds, they cannot afford money for transport. They either stay away from school or walk long distances to get to school,” said Madidimallo.

“They can’t concentrate and often fall asleep during lessons,” he explained.

A vegetable garden was planted almost six years ago for the school’s feeding scheme. According to Madidimallo, the condition of the structure where food was prepared was not conducive.

“We will now have a kitchen with a stove, microwave, fridge, and other utensils,” added Madidimallo.
