Police mistaken for strippers at hen party in Australia

Police arriving to investigate reports of a bar-room brawl in the far-north Australian city of Darwin beat a swift retreat when a group of women celebrating a member’s forthcoming wedding mistook them for a troupe of male strippers.

SYDNEY - “The girls were in fine form and they nearly had their shirts taken off but they managed to escape with their dignity intact,” Senior Sergeant Louise Jorgensen told the Northern Territory News on Friday.

Northern Territory Police said no charges would be laid in connection with Thursday night’s incident.
