Outing of gay footballers: Bayern coach Heynckes sceptical

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes is sceptical whether gay footballers who out themselves publicly will be accepted by the footballing world.

MUNICH - “Possibly society, sport and also a small portion of the fans are not yet ready to tolerate that,” the coach said Friday.

“It is a very sensitive subject,” he said, adding that unlike politics, gay footballers could not automatically expect to be treated with respect by the footballing world.
