The two teams are understood to have agreed on terms to have the player move from Cape Town to Gauteng next season.

Santos will be campaigning in the National First Division after Chippa United beat them 4-3 in the promotional play-offs last weekend and  most of their star players will likely leave them as is the norm when a side is relegated.

Rodgers is not the only player expected to leave the People’s Team as   Erwin Isaacs and Wayne Arendse are also on their way out of the club.

Arendse is expected to join Sundowns while Isaacs is known to have his heart set on Kaizer Chiefs.

Still in the transfer market, PSL newcomers Chippa United are reported to have acquired the services of Niger’s highly-rated  former  CSKA Moscow striker Moussa Maazou.

Maazou has also been linked with Pirates and Chiefs.
