Anarchy will overtake Eskom’s predictions

Eskom boss Brian Dames last week told a radio station that high electricity tariff hikes would still unfortunately be foisted on us for quite some time.

His prediction was that tariff increases would only likely  be brought down to inflation-linked increases within five to seven  years in order for us to catch up with upgrading infrastructure.

At what point does the straw break the camel’s back?  Even tariff  increases based on the inflation rate are a frightening prospect.

I  humbly suggest to our government that we do not have seven years to reduce the increases to fairly reasonable levels.

If Eskom continues at this rate the country will be in flames and anarchy will flourish long before Dames’s predicted seven-year timeframe.

One only has to observe the blazing anger evident in the numerous township protests across the countrty.
