First the Gazzetta said sorry for its error of judgment in printing the cartoon in the first place, then it said: “We can honestly say it is not one of the best efforts by our great cartoonist.”
In South Africa no newspaper respects the complaints of readers. In fact, newspapers make an apology only when faced with legal action or are forced to by the Ombudsman.
Has Zapiro ever acknowledged that his obsession with Jacob Zuma has gone beyond the rational?
