Unreported protest may be key to Putco bus tragedy

I was one of the motorists who had to travel from Vereeniging to Meyerton on the R59 to get to my workplace in Meyerton on the fateful day a Putco bus accident killed 19 people on the Rothene-Samancor off-ramp last month.

No news I have read so far has asked why that bus was on an unfamiliar route.

No journalist seems to know that on that fateful day many of the Putco buses, motorists and even taxis going to Meyerton and Vereeniging via De Deur could pass through due to a blockade resulting from a   service delivery  protest in Ironside.

My question is, if that bus was in its familiar route would that accident have happened?
