‘Senseless’ tolls

The Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance (Outa) has unsurprisingly and confidently stated their case has “merit”.

This belief is founded on information gleaned by sifting through documentation relating to e-tolling and provided to Outa by Sanral.

Outa chairman Wayne Duvenhage was quoted as saying “there is nothing which made sense to say e-tolling was the only way forward to pay for South Africa’s roads”.

This, too, is not surprising in view of the government’s crass approach to fleecing its citizens.

Too long have the citizens allowed government to get away with overgenerous payments to its officials, failing healthcare, a weak education system and rampant crime and corruption by officials tasked with serving and protecting the public.

There are accusations against almost every minister in government of abuse of funds or of corruption.  There are those that are plainly inefficient and cannot do their jobs.

From Jacob Zuma to Trevor Manuel, they all have a case to answer, and the people in South Africa should understand  that the ANC is not the way forward.

In fact they have regressed this country to almost abject poverty and will continue to do so until either voted out or physically thrown out, as was evidenced in Egypt and Libya.
