Not as nice as you originally thought

When I saw the headline, “Juju: who pays?” (The Citizen, August 2) I wondered what the word “Juju” really meant. So, I looked it up. This what I found:

-  Harmful, magical power attributed to someone or something;
- A bad vibe or aura;
-  Magic, luck;
-    Voodoo;
- A type of music popular in Nigeria;
- Refers to spirits and ghosts in West Africa.

Tsk, tsk. I thought it was a term of endearment!
