Removing the Lions, who are Currie Cup champs, and promoting the Kings, who can’t even qualify for the premier division, will be  tragic for Gauteng rugby.

Super Rugby is the toughest club rugby competition in the world and the Southern Kings will become the laughing stock of the rugby fraternity.

On the bright side, they will only play there for 2013 and thereafter will be relegated because they didn’t qualify on merit.
