DURBAN - Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said a 10-year-old boy and an 11-year old boy, as well as the father of one of the boys were killed.

The lorry went downhill, colliding with numerous vehicles before going over an embankment into a construction site close to where the N2 crosses Umgeni Road.

It dragged two cars with it into the construction works being done at the bridge.

Botha said he believed one of the cars belonged to a holiday-maker, as fishing rods and Monopoly money were scattered over the accident scene.

He said that two other people were seriously injured while another two were treated for minor injuries.

A crane was being used to lift the lorry. It was not immediately clear how many other people were injured.

eThekwini metro police spokesman Superintendent Eugene Msomi said police were still on scene by early evening.
