ANC probes Friends of League link

JOHANNESBURG - Friends of the Youth League was established soon after former ANC Youth League (ANCYL) president Julius Malema was expelled from the ANC.
The reaction comes after reports that the party’s provincial executive committee (PEC) members Clifford Motsepe and Frans Moswane attended a gathering organised by the Friends of the Youth League on Monday night at Marco Hall in Polokwane.
The pair are Malema’s close political allies. At the same meeting Malema castigated President Jacob Zuma over his sexual indiscretions and his polygamy, among other things.
Malema also said Zuma lacks vision.
“Zuma has no thinking capacity, he doesn’t have ideas. Anything he says, you must rest assured he heard somebody saying it and he believed it.
If we were engaged in academic activity, Zuma would be accused of plagiarism because he doesn’t acknowledge the source,” Malema reportedly said.
Yesterday, ANC national spokesman Keith Khoza confirmed that the ANC will launch an investigation.
“We will launch an investigation and the party will be guided by the leadership on the matter,” Khoza said.
Khoza told The Citizen that the ANC will not respond to Malema statements.
“People on a daily basis express views on the ANC and we don’t comment. We are not going to respond to Malema statements,” Khoza said.
