The high-profile Nike campaign reading “I am the bullet in the chamber” appears to have been removed from Oscar Pistorius's website.

As word spread across social media that the Blade Runner had been arrested after the shooting of a 30-year-old woman at his home in Silverlakes, Pretoria on Thursday, many were quick to visit the South African athlete's site.

The woman has initially been identified by local media as the Blade Runner's girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, however police have been unable to confirm this until the deceased has been identified.

Those that did, like @angel1jones, were soon to comment to both Nike and Pistorius's public relations departments that perhaps the header should be removed as she tweeted a screenshot of it (pictured). “Repeat, dear #Nike and #OscarPistorius PR people, change Oscar website scrolling header pic NOW.”

Another tweeter, @geoffreyyork added, “NIke, sponsor of Oscar Pistorius, calls him "the bullet in the chamber." They might want to change that slogan.”

The scrolling header has apparently been removed from the site.
