Closures for Gauteng legislature opening

Various roads in the Johannesburg CBD will be closed ahead of the opening of the Gauteng legislature, metro police said on Sunday.

Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the roads would be closed between 7am and 3pm on Monday.

Market street would be blocked between Sauer and Rissik streets; President street would be blocked off between Sauer and Loveday streets; and Pritchard street would be blocked off at Harrison and Simmonds streets.

Minnaar said metro police officials would direct traffic.

Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane is expected to deliver her state-of-the-province address at 10am on Monday.
