Faul withdraws resignation

JOHANNESBURG - Faul tendered his resignation to the CSA board last week, citing differences in opinion regarding the roles and responsibilities of the board.
"The board members have given me their full support and I am grateful for that," Faul said after the CSA special general meeting in Johannesburg.
"I will continue to do the job to the best of my ability."
Faul took office, in an acting capacity, after Gerald Majola was suspended in March for failing to declare R4.7 million in bonuses, paid to CSA staff without clearance from the board or the remuneration committee.
The federation's board, meanwhile, confirmed it had received the go-ahead to start the disciplinary hearing against Majola.
"The board gave our legal team a mandate to proceed with the disciplinary hearing on the basis of the advisory award handed down by the chairman of the disciplinary hearing, Advocate Johan Myburgh SC," said CSA acting president Willie Basson.
"The advisory award went very much in our favour so it is very positive that we hold the moral high ground."
