Unfinished business

Maluleka rejoined United from Ajax Cape Town last month and tonight he comes up against his former team-mates when the Urban Warriors host Matsatsantsa a Pitoria at Cape Town Stadium in the first league match of the season.
The 23-year-old joined Ajax in 2009 from United with a clause in his contract stipulating that the Tshwane outfit could buy him back and said he was happy to have rejoined Gavin Hunt’s charges.
“I won two league titles with SuperSport but I felt like I didn’t contribute enough in those titles,” he said.
“So I feel I have unfinished business with the team as I want to contribute.
“I want to play regularly now for them.”
Maluleka insisted he was happy at Ajax and had no problems but just wanted to return to Gauteng where he enjoyed his football under coach Hunt before joining Cape Town-based Ajax.
And now that he will be facing Ajax for the first time since he made his switch to Matsatsantsa, he said he will have mixed emotions when he runs onto the Cape Town Stadium pitch wearing United colours.
“I won’t allow those emotions to get the better of me,” he said. “I want to do well for SuperSport against Ajax and that’s my aim. I have nothing to prove to any one.”
The midfielder said his main goal this season is to add to his two league medals and that with the squad they have assembled, United can pose a serious challenge.
“We sat down as a team and Gavin Hunt said to us, if we want to win the league and cup competitions, we have to focus on one game at a time,” he said.
Maluleka made his return to the club last weekend in the MTN8 with a goal against Free State Stars which helped United to the semifinals against defending champions Orlando Pirates.
