The Flying Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by their Beninoise opposition last weekend in an international warm-up match heading into tonight’s duel.   They also have a sticky history against Amajita.

The two clashed in an invitational match in Cape Town in July, with the home team beating the Nigerians 1-0.

Amajita are now on a   high and will be aiming to continue   against the Flying Eagles  tonight.

As part of their preparations for this daunting task, Amajita played and defeated Botswana in two international friendly matches, scoring eight goals without conceding one.

They then went on to defeat National First Division side Sivutsa FC 2-1 in a practice match.

Amajita qualified for this round on the away goals rule after beating DR Congo 1-0 last month to take the score to 2-2 on aggregate after losing 2-1 in the first leg.

But the Nigerians will definitely not serve Amajita a win on a silver platter.

For Amajita to win the African Youth Championship they will have to sweat and if push comes to shove, they will have to bleed.

The African Under-20 Championship finals are set to take place in Algeria in March 2013, and four top African countries will automatically qualify for the Fifa Under-20 World Cup   in Turkey  the same year.

Amajita are in high spirits, with all the players very much aware of the mammoth task ahead of them.

But, coach Solly Luvhengo has repeatedly called for his men to stay focused, concentrated, and keep scoring goals  going into  this important fixture.

Kick-off is at 7pm.
