Saha on his way to PSL?

Or even better they may sign Sunderland’s Louis Saha.
Saha, a French international, has been released by the English Premier League club with his manager Martin O’Neill hinting that he could land a team in the Premier Soccer League.
“We have come to an agreement whereby we will cancel the remainder of his contract, shake hands and go our separate ways,” O’Neill told United Kingdom’s Sunderlandecho.com.
“I have heard that there is some interest in South Africa for Louis and it might be of some interest to him.”
With his salary demands likely to be astronomical for the local market, it is possible that only a few teams could afford him – Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwean Ronald Chitiyo, nicknamed “Rooney” in his native land, arrived in this country for a week-long trial with the Pirates, PSL defending champions.
SuperSport United, Bloemfontein Celtic, Ajax Cape Town and Chippa United have been reported to also be courting the midfielder.
But it is at the Sea Robbers’ base at Rand Stadium where the midfielder has landed.
The Monomotapa FC midfielder was named the third best player in the 2012 Castle Premiership season in Zimbabwe and is the reason local clubs want to have a look at the player.
While Chitiyo was the initial target in this year’s transfer window, it is thought that the team from Soweto are also setting their sights on signing Mamelodi Sundowns striker Edward Manqele.
If this move materialises, it could see Pirates’ central-midfielder Lehlohonolo Masalesa move to Chloorkop in a swap deal.
But Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has been vocal about liking Manqele which is likely to make it hard for Pirates to land the former Free State Stars marksman.
With Saha on the market and heading to South Africa, Pirates may ditch the bid for Manqele if they are able to secure the veteran French international.
But bidding for Saha may not only be open to them as Chiefs and Sundowns are also likely to sniff around for the 34-year-old former Manchester United and Everton player.
