PSL rookies Chippa United have signed former Ajax Cape Town and Kaizer Chiefs striker Stanton Lewis from Golden Arrows in a swap deal that includes defender Gift Sithole.
Sithole, a former skipper at the club who is believed to have fallen out of favour with club boss Siviwe Mpengesi, will join Arrows until the end of the season.
The beleaguered PSL “newbies” have also given Masibusane Zongo another spell to resuscitate his career in top-flight football.
The former SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits left-wing has signed a two-and-a-half year contract with the Chilli Boys and hopes to make a lasting impression in the top tier.
Meanwhile, former Bafana Bafana midfielder Dillon Sheppard, has signed for Maritzburg United on a one-year contract.
The 33-year-old Sheppard left Arrows where he was not enjoying premium game time at the club.
Sheppard joins The Team of Choice for one year with an option to renew for another.
Wits have reportedly turned down interest shown in Sipho Mngomezulu, effectively making him available for selection in the first team yet again after having been told he wasn’t in the club’s plans last year. The right-back hasn’t played any competitive football this season.
Zimbabwean football giants Dynamos are reportedly seeking just over R1-million from Bloemfontein Celtic for the signature of striker Rodrick Mutuma.
Mutuma has gone back to Zimbabwe and will only return when the deal is concluded.
