Salvaged, scrap cars on auction
22 June 2012 | The Citizen
DEMAND for salvaged and scrap vehicles is still strong, says Graham van Niekerk of Park Village Auctions.
Currently, Van Niekerk says members of the public are buying the bulk of the salvaged and scrap vehicles at auctions, then repairing and utilising the salvaged cars or selling the scrap vehicles on to scrap metal merchants in an attempt to make extra money.
PVA has a number of auctions coming up offering such stock. The first two auctions of this nature will be at Benrose in Johannesburg and the Bank Disposal Centre in Durban respectively on June 26.
Assorted salvage and scrap vehicles and non-runners comprise the stock to go under the hammer at Benrose, which is located at 18 Barney Road. This auction will commence at 10.30am with viewing taking place the day before from 9am to 4pm.
The Durban auction will kick off at 6.30pm at Unit 8 at Cedar Park, which is just off Queen Nandi Drive. Assorted repossessed vehicles, salvaged cars and a collection of other miscellaneous items will be auctioned on the day.
If you can’t make the Benrose auction on the 26th in Johannesburg, simply make your way to Martindale on 221 Main Road, Martindale on the 27th when an assortment of quality repossessed vehicles will be auctioned. This auction will commence at 10.30am with viewing the day before.
