WARNINGS: Gale force (35knots/65kmph) north-westerly to westerly winds are expected in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape as well as the western and southern interiors of the Northern Cape. Very rough seas with wave heights between 4-6m are expected between Alexander Bay and Port Elizabeth, reaching high seas (6-9m) between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas. Heavy falls of rain (>50mm/24hours) are expected in places over the Cape Metropole, West Coast, Cape Winelands and Overberg Districts. Very cold, wet and windy conditions are expected over the interior of the Western Cape, western and southern interior of Northern Cape. Snowfalls are expected over the western highground of the Western Cape and southern highground of Northern Cape.

WATCHES: Very cold conditions are expected over the highgrounds of Western Cape, Eastern Cape, south-western parts of KwaZulu-Natal and southern highgrounds of Northern Cape on Sunday.

A high veldfire danger rating is expected on Saturday over the eastern parts of Northern Cape, North-West, Free State, Gauteng, south-western parts of Limpopo, Mpumalanga as well as the northern half of KwaZulu-Natal.

Cool along the south-coast, otherwise cloudy and cold to very cold with general rain, snowfalls are expected over the western high ground.

 EASTERN CAPE

Fine becoming cloudy and cool with isolated showers from the west in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly to north-westerly becoming strong to gale force overnight.
 
KWAZULU-NATAL

Fine and warm.
The wind along the coast will be fresh north-westerly.

Expected UVB index: Very high.
 
NAMIBIA

Fine and cool but partly cloudy and cold in the south-west and extreme south.
