Britain beat their own world record on their way to topping the times in qualifying for the Olympic Games women's team pursuit on Friday.
Dani King, Laura Trott and Joanna Rowsell completed 12 laps of the Olympic velodrome to clock a new world mark of 3min 15.669sec, beating their old mark of 3:15.720 for the 3 km event.
It is the seventh world record to be set in the velodrome on the second of six consecutive days of competition, and the fifth to be set by the hosts.
On Thursday the British men's pursuit team powered their way over 16 laps in the 4 km event to post a new time of 3:52.449, beating their old mark of 3:53.295 set in Melbourne in April.
Britain's Victoria Pendleton and Jess Varnish also set a new world record on the opening day of track setting 32.526sec in qualifying for the women's two-lap team sprint, from which they were later relegated.
That time was bettered twice by Chinese pair Guo Shuang and Gong Jinjie, first in qualifying (32.447) then in the first round (32.442), before the pair went on to win the silver.
The British men's sprint team -- Philip Hindes, Jason Kenny and Chris Hoy -- got in on the act by clocking a new world record of 42.747 in qualifying for the final of the three-lap event.
They went on to beat France to the gold in an improved world record time of 42.600.
Britain's three-woman pursuit team will compete again on Saturday in the first round. The two fastest teams from the first round battle for the gold with the third and fourth fastest vying for the bronze.
The women's team pursuit is making its Olympic debut in London.
