JOHANNESBURG - The tide is rapidly turning against ANC Youth League (ANCYL) president Julius Malema in his home province Limpopo. At least 350 branches have joined hands in demanding a fresh ANCYL elective conference in the province. Malema’s opponents and detractors are accusing him of doctoring the outcome of a recent elective conference, which was marred by confrontation between the police and some ANCYL members. “We the youth of Limpopo organised under the revolutionary undisputed banner of the ANCYL representing over 350 branches from across Limpopo have accepted that the prolonged toleration of injustice has a potential to be accepted as justice over time,” read a statement by the league’s Vhembe, Mopani, Peter Mokaba, Sekhukhune and Waterberg regions. They expressed their unequivocal opposition to the charges brought up against former leaders of the league in Limpopo. “We have learnt with shock and dismay about the charging of our leaders for reasons we found ludicrous. “Our leaders are being charged for organising a legal conference to hand over power that was disrupted and collapsed by their own fellow leaders in the name of national office”. They charged that Malema had instructed the police to chase out conference delegates who were opposed to his preferred candidates. “We have tolerated the wrong things from the national office in the name of discipline and democracy yet we remain undermined as the basic units of the organisation – branches.” The Citizen understands that Malema’s opponents have embarked on a campaign to find a suitable candidate to challenge him at the ANCYL congress next year. Andile Lungisa is not seen as a strong candidate to unseat Malema. |

Anyone can shout inflammatory political rhetoric, insult people and act as rabble rouser, It takes a real man to be seen to try and make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged people. ANCYL must learn that they are there to learn to run a country efficiently and not just to rabble rouse and spew out political rhetoric .
Start by being useful to the youth.

As we all know the youth is the future of our conuntry and therefore it is imperrative that the ANC elect someone who will look out for their needs and also look after the needs of ALL South Africans in this country.
