ANCYL praises Malema’s work
NONI MOKATI
JOHANNESBURG - ANC Youth League (ANCYL) president Julius Malema has received more kudos – this time from his own organisation.
The Young Lions yesterday said, despite continuous jealousy and objections by other parties, the league agreed with President Jacob Zuma’s confidence in the daring and vocal youth leader.
Zuma at the weekend stated that Malema was a leader in the making and worthy of inheriting the leadership of the ruling party.
The league said it was evident that through Malema’s leadership, the ANCYL had become the most formidable youth political organisation not only in South Africa, but the world.
In a separate statement, the ANC said the attack by the Democratic Alliance (DA) youth leadership on Zuma’s support for Malema, was ill-informed and smacked of political opportunism.
The DA earlier said Zuma’s comments that Malema was a worthy leader raised questions about his understanding of leadership.
ANC national spokesman Jackson Mthembu said Zuma’s statement about Malema being a worthy leader was in line with the culture of leadership development within the ruling party.
