Pupil stabbed outside school

DURBAN - A 16-year-old boy died after he was stabbed by another boy outside his school in Newlands on Tuesday morning, KwaZulu Natal police said.

“Outside the school two pupils started fighting, one pulled out a knife and stabbed the other in the chest,” said Captain Kepu Ndlovu.

Ndlovu said the 16-year-old grade 11 student was rushed to hospital but died on arrival.

“After the incident occurred a 17-year-old grade 10 student that was a suspect disappeared. Police started looking for him,” he said.

The youth was later found in KwaMashu. He is due to appear in court soon.
