Malakite gives their views on house party

Owner of Malakite Mews gives his views on the Give It 2 me Deep house party which had to find another venue.

ALBERTON NORTH: Mark Sham, one of the owners of Malakite Mews, said that it was a good business opportunity to host the teens from the Give It 2 me Deep party.

Give It 2 me Deep Redemption is a group of youngsters who DJ and host huge parties for the young people of Alberton and surrounding areas.

Since the announcement of the party being hosted at the venue, Mark and his team received a visit from Disaster Management and found that they are not equipped to host that amount of teens.

The Give It 2 me Deep group sold many tickets for their party, but not everyone who bought tickets made it into the party. The third party, which would have been at Malakite, would have been a party to make it up to the people who did not make it to the previous party.

Hundreds of people were anticipated for the next party, and the organizers thought they would help by being in control of security and checking IDs, as no under 18s were allowed.

Malakite has a valid liquor license, so therefore thought they were well within their rights to host the event. They later received a visit from Disaster Management who pointed out that in order to host that many people, forms would have to be filled in, among other details.

The owners of Malakite realised that they were not equipped to host that amount of people and cancelled the party to be hosted there.

Mark Sham and the other owners have decided to go back to doing what they do best, with their intimate atmosphere and beautiful environment to only host small parties and conferences.
