Water outage in South Crest and Alberton North

Municipal encourages affected members to make use of the deployed water tankers.

The City of Ekurhuleni is aware of the prevailing water supply situation which has left places like South Crest and Alberton North without water.

According to Ekurhuleni spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini, the current situation is a result of a leak caused when criminals stole some components of the pipeline between the N12 highway north of the Voortrekker off-ramp.

“Technicians are attending to the problem and the turnaround time for completion of the work has not yet been established,” he said.

“The City has deployed water tankers to minimise the impact of the outage on affected residents. These will be roving around the affected areas on a regular basis until the situation has normalised, said Dlamini.

The City apologises for the inconvenience caused and will be updating affected communities on developments via its social media platforms.
