Camera club snaps into action

Lights, camera, shoot. Camera look invites new members to its ranks.

With their batteries fully charged and aperture set, members of the Benoni Camera Club were seen snapping and shooting at Bottom of Boden during their recent focused workshop.

Francois Venter presented the morning’s topic, offering resourceful hints and tips about capturing magnificent monochrome photographs.

After going through the theory, the keen members set out, putting their newfound composition and lighting skills to the test.

According to club member Linda Stedman, the club plans to present a further two workshops on the subject before September, when the best mono images entered by members will be announced.

The camera club is the perfect place for budding photographers and hobbyists to meet and share valuable tricks and techniques.

They meet on the first Wednesday of the month at the Faith Hall, Northfield Methodist Church, Airfield .

The club is open to all amateur photographers who are keen to brush up on their knowledge and skills.

Members will be setting out to the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens on April 21 for a club excursion.
