Protea Stage Productions: Get 3 tickets for the price of 2 until November 16 for their latest farce

Love's a Luxury is on stage at All Souls Anglican Church on 5, 6, 12 and 13 December at 19:30.

The talented members of Protea Stage Productions are feverishly preparing to dish up another hilarious farce – and guess what? Until November 16, you can get three tickets for the price of two!

Their latest production, Love’s a Luxury, is a 1950s farce by Guy Paxton and Edward V. Hoile about a theatrical producer, Charles Pentwick, and his star actor, Robert Bentley, who have fled to Cranberry Cottage because of Pentwick’s marital problems.

At the cottage, they are met with a bigger problem as they discover that Mrs Harris, the housekeeper, is not there to look after them but her much younger daughter, Molly, is there to fulfil her mother’s duties.

The situation only goes downhill as an ex-Scoutmaster, Mr Mole, makes his appearance and soon after, Fritzy, the suspected other woman, arrives unexpectedly.

Eventually, as Mrs Pentwick turns up, the panicking Pentwick, Dick (Pentwick’s son), Bentley, Fritzy and Molly all work frantically to recover what was, after all, an innocent error.

The plot involves a comedic spiral of misunderstandings, a ridiculous investigation, and mistaken identities.
