Focus on special needs education

With more and more children struggling with mainstream education, and the fact that all children experience different learning difficulties, the focus and demand for special needs education is pertinent.

Many children need extra help and attention to be able to cope at school. Special needs education is designed to help learners with special needs achieve a higher level of personal self-sufficiency and success in school and their community.

Special needs education is more accepted and encouraged today and offers inclusive education and training in schools by providing equal access, opportunities and resources to children with physical disabilities or less visible disabilities like dyslexia, ADD or low IQ and learning disorders.

Classes for children with special educational needs are smaller, thus allowing each learner to receive individual attention from specialist teachers. Special needs education helps children learn essential life skills at a pace with which they can cope, and helps to develop the learner’s academic and practical skills so that the child can progress through school and become productive members of society.
