Musgrave flower show a blooming success

Musgrave Centre boasted beautiful arrangements and artistic excellence in the national flower show over the weekend.

MUSGRAVE Centre was beautifully adorned with creative designs of floral art as they hosted a Flower Show at the weekend.

Musgrave Centre general manager, Tracy Williamson was full of praise of the floral artists who she believed had outdone themselves at the prize-giving this year. “I'm still speechless! Every placing and arrangement is truly beautiful,” she added.

Organiser, Di Wayne, said the standard was very good. “We add interest with the DUT Fashion and Textile students' Shoe Fetish Class where students craft shoes from plant material, recyclable and up-cycled materials and this year had flower themed art work by the Maris Stella pupils.”

An outstanding class this year according to Wayne was, A Good Read where floral artists had to interpret the title of a book. “The standard was extremely high with seven out of the 13 entrants receiving prizes and highly commended certificates for their brilliant effort!”
