Driver injured and Boksburg SPCA inspectorate flat damaged in accident

No SPCA employees were injured.

A truck driver was injured and the Boksburg SPCA’s inspectorate flat was damaged following an accident along Campbell Road yesterday morning (June 25).

According to EMPD spokesperson Constable Deliwe Ndlovu, the truck driver drove into a tree, which led the tree to fall on one of the municipal buildings said to be rented by Boksburg SPCA.

“A second vehicle tried to avoid the truck and drove off the road. The driver of the second vehicle sustained no injuries and the driver of the truck sustained slight injuries,” explained the spokesperson.

Boksburg SPCA manager Vicky Finnemore, said it is believed the truck driver lost control of the vehicle due to the wet weather.

According to a post on the Boksburg SPCA’s Facebook page, it’s inspectorate after-hour flat was damaged in the accident.

“Our inspectorate flat is no more. Thankfully, one large Bluegum tree held the truck or the velocity of the drop may have had the load go through the back walls of the adoption row,” read the post.

No employee was injured in the incident.
