Boksburg North SAPS crime round-up
A business robbery and house robbery cases were opened at the Boksburg North Police Station.
The following cases were recently reported to the Boksburg North SAPS:
Business robbery
A gang of armed robbers fled with cellphones and gas cylinders valued at R36 000 in a business robbery at the Total Garage in North Rand Road in the early hours of January 14.
According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Justice Ramaube, an armed man came into the store and instructed an employee at the kiosk to sit in the corner.
“The robber demanded his cellphone and the store’s panic button. The victim’s colleague was also instructed to go to the corner when he arrived and had to give up his cellphone.
“Meanwhile, several other robbers loaded gas cylinders onto a white double cab bakkie. They then fled,” said Ramaube.
House robbery
Five men took a television and jewellery to the value of R30 000 in a house robbery on the morning of January 16.
According to Ramaube, the domestic worker allegedly opened for the robbers, who pretended to be there to repair the gate.
“When inside the robbers pointed firearms at the worker and demanded money. She told them she didn’t have any money and the robbers made their way to the owner’s room. The owner also didn’t have money.
“They then tied up the domestic worker and helped themselves to a TV and jewellery from the house,” said Ramaube.
