Dalpark resident a semi-finalist in Mrs South Africa pageant

The programme celebrates marriage and the essence of being a woman.

Dalpark resident Carla Young has been announced as a semi-finalist in the Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa 2019 pageant, out of a record number of entries received by the organisation.

Her journey began on March 1, when she was invited along with the other beautiful, sophisticated and married women from all over South Africa, to the second national casting and empowerment workshop, held at Emperors Palace.

Once selected, the semi-finalists attended weekend-long workshops to help them prepare for the journey ahead.

Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa is a journey that has gained the reputation of a women empowerment programme that prides itself on producing the very best in real, relatable and modern South African women.

The programme celebrates marriage and the essence of being a woman.

It was created for married women, who would ordinarily not have such a platform to compete and be ambassadors for South Africa on a global scale.

The opportunities and platform that have been created for the entrants are significant in every way and truly create a ripple effect across our beautiful country.

Through the journey, women find themselves again and learn that they are never too old to follow their dreams and become voices of change.

“I want to create a platform to alleviate the pain of drug abuse; I wish to help reverse and teach against the brainwashing that is substance abuse in our young people,” said Carla.

“I aim to assist in growing a brand that nurtures and supports young ladies through their journey of adulthood.”

Only 25 women will be selected to continue the journey as finalists and they will be announced at the Annual Charity Ball on June 28.

All proceeds of this event will go to the pageant’s official charity, Women4Women South Africa.
