A man and a woman died when the vehicle in which they were traveling collided with a bridge on the P111 on 19 December. Fourteen people sustained serious injuries when the driver of a taxi lost control of the vehicle at the Wedela circle on 18 December, sending it downhill towards the nearby soccer fields. Two victims were trapped in the vehicle.
