Four suspects sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision following a high-speed chase on the P111 road on the morning of Monday 25 April. The drama started unfolding when four men gained entry to a house in Usuthu Street in Carletonville. They tied the domestic worker up with a belt before making off with a white Condor, a television and other items. A suspicious neighbour, meanwhile, alerted the police to the incident. They, in turn, informed the paramedics who were attending to a road accident nearby and asked them to help close the road. While the paramedics were on their way to Carletonville to set up the road block, they spotted the vehicle and, together with the SAPS, confronted the suspects. The vehicle did not stop, however, and sped down the P111 instead. The Condor hit the Gladiator’s emergency BMW from the front, leaving the wreck a write- off. The paramedic who was driving the vehicle, the well-known Mr Gerrit Bradnic, sustained minor injuries to the chest and right arm. The injured were taken to hospital under police guard.
