Three armed robbers robbed a female security officer who was guarding a municipal pay point in Khutsong South around midnight on 18 May. The security guard took a body break from guarding the building. While she was in the toilet, she allegedly heard a loud bang and went to investigate. She caught the three suspects in balaclavas by surprise and one of them pointed a firearm at her. They asked where the other guards were and, when she told them she was alone, they took her bulletproof vest, three cellular phones and her company firearm with 13 rounds. The suspects ordered her to lie down and not look up and fired one shot in the air before leaving. The gate of the premises was still locked but the suspects had removed a piece of palisade fencing to gain entry. The victim got through
