Faith-based groups playing a role in fighting crime

Faith-based groups in Carletonville held a meeting at the municipal chambers on 5 July.

Faith-based groups in Carletonville held a meeting at the municipal chambers on 5 July. The aim of the meeting was to provide feedback and identify the role of churches in the community, mostly in solving and preventing crime. The event followed a call by the SAPS for this community to help the police with information and the broader community by inspiring and motivating its members.
The Carletonville SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Peter Masooa, said he was optimistic that things were changing for the better. Masoea also highlighted the need for everyone to be objective to the challenges of the community and for getting involved.
