Child seriously injured after gate falls on top of her

A 5-year-old girl was left in a serious condition this morning after a security gate fell on top of her at a residence on Willow Road in Benoni AH.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the child and mother in the driveway. The gate had already been lifted off the young patient.

Paramedics assessed the young girl and found that she had sustained a serious head injury.

The patient was treated and provided with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, the patient was transported to LIfe Glynwood Hospital for urgent treatment.

An investigation into the matter will be conducted.
