Fire breaks out in school store, injuring five children

Five children were injured yesterday afternoon after a fire broke out in a storeroom in a school on Fulton Street in Industria.

Five children were injured yesterday afternoon after a fire broke out in a storeroom in a school on Fulton Street in Industria.
ER24 paramedics, along with the fire services, arrived on the scene and found that a small storeroom had caught alight. Scholars and teachers had already begun to evacuate from the premises.
Fire services began to extinguish the blaze with ER24 paramedics began to assess the children.
Five children, aged between 13 and 15, were found to have been suffering from minor smoke inhalation. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported on the scene.
Two the children were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment while the remaining patients declined further treatment.
Fire services were able to extinguish the blaze after a short time.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
