Motorbike rider killed in Boksburg collision

A 31 year old motorbike rider sustained fatal injuries when he crashed into the back of a stationary vehicle on the N12 east near the Atlas off ramp this evening.

A 31 year old motorbike rider sustained fatal injuries when he crashed into the back of a stationary vehicle on the N12 east near the Atlas off ramp this evening.

Shortly before 6pm, paramedics were attending to a minor collision on the N12. Due to the collision, several vehicles were stationary on the highway. It is understood that the motorbike rider crashed into the back of one of the vehicles that were stationary due to the initial collision.
Paramedics from ER24 that arrived on the scene found the rider near his motorbike. Sadly, he sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing that paramedics could do for him. He was later declared dead. The occupants of the vehicle was not injured in the collision.
Local authorities attended the scene and will investigate.
