This service organisation is gearing up for Sunday’s blanket run, which will be held
at Ollie’s in Welverdiend at 09:00 on Sunday, 14 May. Those who wish to attend
must each take a blanket along.
The entry fee is R70, for which visitors will get a breakfast and a fabric badge.
According to the president of the Carletonville Rotary Club, Ms Raelene du Piesanie, the blankets collected during the event will be given to needy people from Carletonville and Khutsong who receive help from Carletonville Home Based Care. ‘We will take the blankets to the needy people at home,’ says Du Piesanie. In the meantime, Rotary also handed out jerseys and sweaters, which were made by a caring resident, to 25 children at the Karabo Day Care in Water’s Edge on Tuesday.
