Three people were injured, one seriously, when two vehicles collided with each other on the R28 near the R559 in Randfontein this evening.
At approximately 4.30pm, paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene where they found the two vehicles. Two occupants were found with minor to moderate injuries on the scene. The front passenger in one of the vehicles was found with serious injuries.
The local fire department had to use mechanical tools to free the man from the vehicle. Once freed, paramedics were able to fully assess and treat him for his injuries. The ER24 Oneplan Medical Helicopter was called to the scene to airlift him to hospital.
The exact circumstances surrounding the cause of the collision is not yet known.
