A case of culpable homicide was opened after a pedestrian was knocked down in Khutsong at around 18:20 on
25 June. According to the complainant, she was driving down Sompane Road in a state vehicle when a group of people stopped her and informed her about the accident. She went to the scene and, on arrival, found the driver of the white Toyota Quantum. He had been travelling towards Khutsong South when he hit an unknown man who was crossing the road. The complainant noticed the victim lying face-down on the ground and alerted the emergency services. The victim sustained head injuries and the paramedics declared him dead at the scene. The Toyota Quantum taxi was damaged on the front centre and the victim’s beanie was found on the windscreen of the vehicle.
