Four people sustained moderate injuries when two vehicles collided with each other at the N12/R28 intersection in Westonaria on Saturday night.
At approximately 8pm, paramedics arrived on the scene where they found the two vehicles near the intersection. The driver of one of the vehicles was still trapped and had to be freed using rescue equipment. Three occupants from a Toyota Corolla was treated and transported to a nearby hospital. They all sustained various injuries.
The driver of a Renault was treated on the scene for possible back and neck injuries and later transported to a nearby hospital. A passenger from the Renault was assessed on scene, but later declined to be transported to hospital.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene.
