Police bust alleged drug dealer

A woman led the police to an alleged drug dealer after the Carletonville SAPS arrested her for possession of illegal substances.

The communications officer of the police in Carletonville, WO Peter Masooa, says the police arrested the woman in the vicinity of Pick n Pay at around 17:20 on Friday.
They suspected that the man with her was the dealer and also questioned him.
‘The police asked him to take them to his place and the man started shaking. At first, he took them to the wrong address,’ says Masooa.
The police then handcuffed him and asked him to take them to the correct address, which was in Felsite Street. The suspect tried to lead them on another wild goose chase and pointed out the wrong rooms.
But they were too sharp for him and found and searched the room belonging to him.
They found substances suspected to be drugs in the cupboard and money in a rusk box.
The drugs, presumed to be cocaine and XTC, looked similar to the ones found on the woman.
Several times, before and during the search, the man asked whether he ‘could talk’ with the police.
His alleged attempts to bribe the police did not work, however, and he was arrested and taken to the Carletonville police station.
