No answers about Fochville swimming pool

The Merafong City Local Municipality has not yet indicated when the municipal swimming pool in Fochville will open.

People in Carletonville have been cooling off in the municipal swimming pool since September when the annual swimming season officially started.
Swimmers in Fochville are not so lucky, however, as their municipal swimming pool is still closed. When the Herald went there on Monday, the pool was also still empty.
Someone had sprayed graffiti on the front wall and shattered glass lay strewn in the entrance behind the locked gates. A window frame that had been ripped out on the side of the building and a vandalised electricity box were more evidence that all was not well at the facility. The concrete slabs of a wall inside the facility had also been removed.
The municipal swimming season officially starts at the beginning of September. In the past, Fochville residents have complained that they have had to use the municipal pool in Carletonville. This is currently the only one in the area that is still operational.
On Tuesday, the Herald asked the Merafong City Local Municipality when, if at all, the Fochville swimming pool would open. To date, there has been no response.
