According to Tebogo Lekgethwane, the Department of Health spokesperson, a 53-year-old man, who is a gynecologist in Klerksdorp has recently tested postive for Covid-19.

“He traveled to Drakensburg sometime around, early to mid March. He continued his work upon his return to Klerksdorp but soon he discovered symptoms. The gynecologist was screened and tested,  positive,” said Lekgethwane.

He has been put in isolation at the Life Anncron Hospital.

The doctor led the tracing team to 56 contacts. The tracing team have traced at least 50 of the contacts, and are still tracing the remaining six contacts.

The remaining contacts are urged to go to their nearest health facilities to get screened and tested.
